Activities Coordinator

Job SummaryThe Activities Assistant plays a vital role in planning, organizing, and implementing quality activities for patients, ensuring their recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in planning and developing activity programs, including entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education.
- Chart patient progress and behavior in a descriptive and accurate manner.
- Escort patients to and from activities and make regular in-room visits to those uninterested or unable to participate.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
- Assist in the evacuation of patients and demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
- Perform tasks that require sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during working hours.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Prior experience with geriatrics is preferred.
- Valid driver's license in the current state with a satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards.
- Demonstrated proficiency in arts/crafts/music is preferred.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility.
- Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
- Perform proficiently in all competency areas, including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation.
- Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
- Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
