We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to support the establishment of robust accounting controls and processes. This role will involve participating in the month-end closing procedures and ensuring compliance with GAAP for financial reporting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in collaborating with the Accounting Manager to enhance the accounting function and will be expected to foster relationships across various branches within the organization.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Foundational knowledge in accounting (public accounting experience preferred) and familiarity with US GAAP
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Core Responsibilities:
- Preparation of month-end journal entries, including biweekly payroll entries
- Conducting bank and credit card reconciliations
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations for all organizational entities
- Assisting in the preparation and analysis of financial statements
- Compiling PBC documents necessary for audits and tax filings
- Contributing to the development of a control environment and documentation of accounting processes
- Handling sales tax return preparation
- Engaging in special projects and additional requests as needed
Additional Information:
Salary range is between $60,000 and $65,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, ambulance services, 401k plan, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP). A hybrid work schedule is available following the completion of the mandatory probationary period.
