Excomweb Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to join our team at Excomweb. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing physical education programs tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education programs for students with disabilities based on their unique needs, abilities, and goals.
  • Provide engaging and inclusive physical education instruction that accommodates diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate students' progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, therapists, and other professionals to support the holistic development of students with disabilities.
  • Promote inclusivity and create a supportive and welcoming environment where all students feel valued and empowered to participate in physical activities.
  • Modify equipment, rules, and activities as necessary to ensure accessibility and safety for students with disabilities.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders regarding students' progress, achievements, and challenges.
  • Stay informed about best practices, research, and trends in adaptive physical education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in physical education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Valid teaching certification/license in Physical Education or Special Education
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational or recreational setting
  • Adapted Physical Education (Cl-623) Added Authorization
  • Knowledge of adaptive physical education principles, techniques, and strategies
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and tailor lessons to meet individual student needs
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equity in physical education

This position typically operates within a school environment, including classrooms, gymnasiums, and outdoor spaces. The Adaptive Physical Education Teacher may also travel to different locations within the school or community to facilitate physical education programs and activities.
