Head of Investor Relations Job Overview

Selby Jennings is seeking a seasoned Head of Investor Relations to join their team in Washington DC. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in investor relations, fundraising, and business development to drive growth and success in the private equity industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Fundraising Efforts: Develop and implement effective investor outreach strategies, crafting compelling presentation materials and analyses to engage with institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Identify opportunities to scale fundraising and investor relations activities, streamline investment reporting, and enhance data management to meet the evolving needs of LPs and the firm.
  • Provide Administrative Support: Collaborate with the internal Investor Relations team and external Sales Team to ensure seamless execution of investor relations and fundraising activities.
  • Ensure Data Integrity: Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in the CRM system, ensuring consistency across firm-wide reporting and investor data repositories.
  • Assist with Investor Outreach: Support the development of investor outreach and servicing strategies, including drafting and completing investment proposals, questionnaires, and data requests.
  • Stay Informed: Continuously monitor industry trends, best practices, and market data to inform external communications and investor relations activities.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in investor relations, preferably within the private equity or investment management industry.
  • Financial Markets Understanding: Strong understanding of financial markets and appreciation for technology/software sector.
  • Private Equity Knowledge: Strong understanding of private equity markets, investment strategies, and financial performance metrics.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals, and other stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Integrity and Professionalism: High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
