Petroleum Inspector

We are seeking a skilled Petroleum Inspector to join our team at Intertek Caleb Brett. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for performing volume and temperature measurements, as well as sampling commodity materials contained in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.

• Perform volume and temperature measurements on shore tanks, rail cars, barges, and ships
• Sample commodity materials contained in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
• Complete visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
• Conduct custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships
• Perform routine equipment calibrations, verification, and function checks
• Verify and communicate results obtained and make entries into appropriate media

• Must have experience in gauging and sampling shore tanks and barges
• Basic grasp of basic mathematics and ability to work in an automated environment
• Ability to work on an on-call basis
• Cannot have a fear of heights
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
• Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
