Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Administer employee benefit plans, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness.

Financial Management:

  • Review and approve all financial disclosures and reports.
  • Conduct analytics and benchmarking to identify areas for improvement.
  • Report financial outcomes and strategic insights to the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee the year-end financial statement review process.
  • Manage the company's tax obligations.
Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate key risks to the organization.
  • Monitor ongoing legal matters affecting the company and the industry.
  • Establish and maintain reliable control systems.
  • Ensure adequate insurance coverage for various risks.
  • Guarantee compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain records that meet auditor and regulatory requirements.
  • Report risk-related issues to the audit committee and board.
  • Engage with external auditors and address their findings.
Funding Management:
  • Monitor cash flow, forecasts, and working capital requirements.
  • Facilitate debt and equity financing arrangements.
  • Manage investment of funds.
  • Oversee retirement plans and associated assets.
  • Lead banking and financing relationships.
  • Handle government grant applications and reporting obligations.
Third-Party Relations:
  • Engage with economic development representatives.

Family Business Considerations:
  • Oversee estate and succession planning.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration; CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior financial role.
  • Experience collaborating with executive teams and strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial analysis, and internal controls.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent relationship-building and presentation skills.
  • Preference for candidates with finance experience in manufacturing, MBAs in Finance, or relevant certifications.

Additional Skills:
  • Ability to step into an interim controller role if needed.

Compensation:

Salary: $120,000/year
