Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic team at Inova Health System. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Radiation Oncology department.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, tailoring your approach to their individual needs and levels of understanding.
- Position patients for treatment, verify set-up, and ensure accurate records of daily treatments.
- Act as a liaison between physicians and machine staff, utilizing your technical expertise to resolve complex treatment issues.
- Document any corrections in charts resulting from changes in treatment plans and detect unsatisfactory set-ups or errors.
- Perform daily quality assurance on linear accelerators, simulators, and Computed Tomography machines to verify accurate output.
- Participate in in-vivo dosimetry measurements, special dosimetry, and department in-services/conferences.
- Associate degree in Radiation Therapy or Certification.
- American Registered Radiologic Technologist certification or registry eligibility within one year of employment.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.
- VA License required for positions at Potomac Radiation Oncology Center.
