We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Southeastern Integrated Care LLC. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing coaching, mentoring, and consultation to individuals struggling with behavioral health disorders and substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver manualized interventions, such as Wellness Recovery Action Planning or Illness Management and Recovery, to promote wellness management strategies.
- Assist individuals in developing psychiatric advance directives and behavioral and substance abuse treatment interventions.
- Model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal actions to encourage wellness and resilience.
- Provide consultation to team members to promote a culture of recovery and understanding of the role of Peer Support Specialists.
- Participate in the initial Person-Centered Plan and its ongoing revisions, ensuring the implementation of the PCP.
- Support and empower individuals to exercise their legal rights within the community.
- Represent the company in a positive manner, reflective of our mission, at all times.
- Must possess a High School Diploma/GED.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the population served.
- Hold a Certified Peer Support Specialist certification and a valid driver's license.
- Must have North Carolina Peer Support Certification, with current certification maintained.
The work environment is primarily in the client's living environment and in the community, with occasional exposure to cigarette smoke, domestic animals/pets, household pests, and other issues related to the domestic location.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands of this role include standing, walking, using hands to handle objects, talking, and hearing. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
