Virtual Production Specialist

About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Producer, Virtual Production to join our team at Magnopus, a content-focused technology company that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible in film and gaming. As a key member of our Virtual Production team, you'll be responsible for overseeing the development and launch of complex, high-profile projects that showcase the latest advancements in virtual production techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the full project lifecycle from conception to end of principal photography, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Manage resource allocation and cross-functional team collaboration, including engineers, artists, designers, operators, and hardware techs.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, working closely with department heads and the accounting team.
  • Drive client meetings and manage delivery expectations, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee day-to-day stage operations, including hardware and software debugging, and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Provide a nurturing environment for the team to perform at their highest level, removing impediments to progress and promoting a positive morale.
  • Manage team efficiency, improve production methodologies, and identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Prepare and deliver production reports, build and manage production schedules, and track assets and scenes through the pipeline.
  • Research and procure third-party hardware and software, ensuring compatibility and integration.
  • Develop trusting relationships with department heads, filmmakers, and creatives, and work closely with other Magnopus producers and department managers.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical or creative project manager, with a proven track record of VFX or Vprod deliveries.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with real-time engines and new-age virtual production film techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to direct a team while promoting a positive morale in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project planning skills, with the ability to find creative solutions to daily challenges.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to lead by example and translate complex ideas into clear and concise language.
  • Understanding of Hollywood politics, terminology, and procedures.
Bonus Points
  • Experience on LED wall virtual production shoots.
  • PM or Data Wrangler on tech-forward VFX shoots.
  • Hands-on experience as a developer or artist before transitioning into project management/coordination.
