We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse II to join our medical team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and work closely with our registered nurses to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction and care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet their physical and psychological needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Collaborate with registered nurses to provide comprehensive patient care and education.
- Document patient information and progress in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Graduate of a Practical Nursing Program.
- Current LPN licensure in the state of West Virginia.
- Current CPR certification.
- Completion of UHC's Licensed Practical Nurse II Certification Course.
- Experience with EPIC documentation system.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Six (6) months to One (1) year of recent experience in an Acute Care Setting.
The physical demands of this position require frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and feeling. The work environment may expose you to body fluids, human tissues, contagious diseases, sharps, and explosive gases.
Skills and Abilities- Effective reading and comprehension skills.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Math skills for calculations of medications.
- Ability to type and document accurately using electronic based record systems.
- Ability to perform concentrated and complex mental activity with frequent involvement in complex and highly technical situations.
