Job Title: RN Supervisor SICU

Job Summary:

Next Move Healthcare is seeking a dynamic RN Supervisor to join our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) team. The RN Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring a safe and caring environment for patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Leadership: Foster a healthy work environment that supports evidence-based practice and research, and coordinate patient care through collaboration with the inter-professional team.
  • Clinical Inquiry: Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, facilitating practice changes through quality improvement initiatives and the use of evidence-based practices.
  • Caring Practices: Create and sustain a compassionate and supportive environment for patients, families, and staff, and coordinate patient care conferences and rounds.
  • Response to Diversity: Identify and address issues arising from individual differences, and provide age-specific and developmentally-appropriate patient care.
  • Advocacy and Moral Agency: Advocate for patients, families, and staff, fostering an ethical practice environment and addressing ethical issues through a systematic process.
  • Facilitation of Learning: Monitor the learning needs of staff and patients, and assist in the design and evaluation of educational activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Collaboration: Role model and mentor professional leadership, collaborate with medical and administrative staff, and participate in departmental and organizational programs and committees.
  • Systems Thinking: Recognize and respond to issues, provide follow-up to critical incidents, allocate resources effectively, and assist in human resource management and budget development.
  • Professionalism: Promote and facilitate shared governance, identify personal and professional development goals, and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Nursing Standards Knowledge: Understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures, and medical terminology.
  • Ethics and Privacy: Knowledge of medical ethics, patient privacy rights, and the ability to provide quality, patient-centered care.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make operational decisions, evaluate and recommend policy changes, and manage resources effectively.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
