Histotechnologist Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Histotechnologist to join our team at All Medical Personnel. As a Histotechnologist, you will be responsible for processing specimens for histological examination, performing routine maintenance of histology instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Process specimens for histological examination, including grossing, embedding, microtomy, and routine staining
* Perform special stains and Immunohistochemical slides for microscopic analysis
* Prepare slides for ancillary testing
* Maintain histology instrumentation and ensure proper functioning
* Monitor inventory and request supplies as needed
* Coordinate laboratory research projects
* Resolve discrepancies with minimal oversight

**Qualifications:**

* Proficiency in all aspects of histology laboratory practice
* State licensed or able to obtain before starting position as a Clinical Histology Technician or Clinical Medical Technologist
* Meets CLIA personnel standard criteria
* Experience with IHC, specialty staining
* Skills in microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and routine special staining techniques

**Preferred Skills:**

* ASCP certification
* Grossing experience
