Job SummaryWe are seeking highly skilled Histology Technicians/Histotechnologists to join our team in the Histology Laboratory. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing microscope slides for pathologists to review, using a variety of techniques and equipment. You will also assist with the training of students and new employees, and actively partner with team members to foster an inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations, including accessioning specimens, specimen processing, and microtomy techniques.
- Apply technical theory to provide operational support and maintain testing activities.
- Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends as needed.
- Associate Degree required for Histology Technician (HT) position.
- Bachelor's Degree required for Histotechnologist (HTL) position.
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) required for both positions.
- Graduate of a NAACLS accredited program preferred.
Mayo Clinic offers a competitive compensation package, including a minimum pay rate of $24.75 per hour for Histology Technicians and $30.25 per hour for Histotechnologists.
