Position Overview:
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a crucial role in delivering mental health assessments, managing patient care, and leading psycho-educational sessions. The BHT is integral to on-site behavioral health services, which encompass patient education, wellness evaluations, and adherence coaching for both medical and mental health patients. This role involves collaboration with the Behavioral Health Provider (BHP) to ensure patient safety, compliance, and active participation in a therapeutic environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a relevant behavioral science or specialty area
- A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health clinic or residential healthcare environment
- Certification from the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians (AAPT) at level three within the first year of employment
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or completion of a CPR/BLS course
