Position Summary:
The Vehicle Parts Specialist is tasked with extracting components from salvaged automobiles, ensuring that each part is accurately identified, organized, and prepared for sale to clients. This role demands a solid mechanical understanding, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and extract components from salvaged vehicles utilizing hand and power tools.
- Examine and test parts to confirm they are functioning properly.
- Correctly label and categorize parts, ensuring they are systematically organized and stored.
- Maintain precise inventory records and monitor the flow of parts.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with clients and suppliers to promote repeat business and uphold a strong industry reputation.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations concerning salvage yard operations.
- Ensure a safe and tidy work environment by enforcing safety measures and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience as a vehicle dismantler or parts extractor is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong mechanical skills and proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced setting and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal salvage yard regulations is a plus.
- Valid driver's license is required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity to stand for prolonged periods.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
