Job Summary

The Workforce Development Specialist will play a critical role in assisting individuals recovering from substance use disorder to achieve employment and stability. This position requires a strong understanding of the recovery process and the ability to provide supportive services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outreach and education to the community about substance use disorder and the recovery process.
  • Conduct assessments and develop case plans for clients, including referrals to supportive services and employment opportunities.
  • Work in partnership with other case managers and outreach workers to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Advocate for clients and identify systemic barriers to employment and recovery.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to develop solutions to address these barriers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field, or at least five years of experience in the field and no degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a reasonable combination of knowledge, abilities, and skills, including family needs assessment, knowledge and ability to access local resources, advocacy, counseling, and working cooperatively with local service providers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high degree of organization, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Personal automobile, valid driver's license, liability insurance, and willingness to travel between counties served up to 70% of the time.
