Counselor-Substance Use Disorder Specialist

HAART Oakland is a harm reduction-based, nonprofit clinic providing treatment to opioid dependent adults in Alameda County since 1979. We provide medication-assisted treatment, long-term detoxification, overdose prevention, and professional counseling services. Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Counselor-Substance Use Disorder Specialist to join our team at HAART Oakland. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide counseling and case management services for a caseload of approximately 40-50 clients. Your expertise in harm reduction-informed counseling, crisis intervention, and grief counseling will be invaluable in supporting our clients' recovery journeys.
Responsibilities- Provide counseling and case management services for a caseload of approximately 40-50 clients.
- Conduct clinical assessments, using validated tools, and exercise clinical judgment to provide treatment and make referrals.
- Provide clinical training for life skills, emotional intelligence, and parenting.
- Provide HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, vocational, and nutritional counseling.
- Maintain timely compliance with documentation requirements of County, State, Federal, and Municipal licensing and accreditation agencies.
- Participate in Quality Assurance Reviews, clinical supervision, performance improvement activities, and continuing education courses.
- A Master's Degree or Doctorate in Counseling, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- A clinical license as an MFT, LCSW, Clinical Psychologist, or LPCC.
