Job Summary

The Leidos company is seeking a skilled Hydrographer to join our team. As a Hydrographer, you will be responsible for collecting and processing marine hydrographic survey data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process marine hydrographic survey data using various survey systems, including multibeam and single beam depth sounders, side scan sonar, and Global Positioning System (GPS).
  • Perform data processing, prepare survey systems for the next field season, and other tasks as directed in an office environment.
  • Collaborate with a 3-12 member survey crew to collect and process data offshore or near-shore.
  • Utilize data analysis and data processing software to process hydrographic data.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university, with an emphasis on Marine Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or Ocean Engineering.
  • 4+ years of related hydrographic survey experience, including maintenance and operation of underwater survey sensors, multibeam and single beam depth sounders, side scan sonar, GPS, sound velocity profilers, bottom samplers, survey data acquisition software, data analysis and data processing software.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GIS software capabilities.
  • Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting survey systems and sensors.
  • Hydrographer Level 1 or Level 2 Certification.

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
