Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Aseptic Filling Equipment Specialist is crucial in driving continuous enhancement and fostering a collaborative environment across all departments. This role entails the operation and upkeep of aseptic machinery and processes, with a strong emphasis on achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory standards including GMP, SOP, GFSI, USDA, FDA, NCDA, and HACCP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with underperforming equipment.
  • Maintain all necessary regulatory, customer, and internal documentation.
  • Develop and implement improvement strategies to optimize resources and KPIs.
  • Support management in various projects and initiatives as required.
  • Set up, sterilize, and operate aseptic filling, batching, and packaging equipment.
  • Conduct regular packaging integrity tests, weight checks, and metal detection using established validation protocols.
  • Ensure appropriate packaging materials are utilized for each product and document machine downtime accurately.
  • Maintain a consistent supply of hydrogen peroxide for material sterilization in the filling machine.
  • Collaborate with engineering to perform preventive maintenance and establish optimal maintenance schedules for designated equipment.
  • Apply lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures correctly.
  • Implement 5S standards in work areas.
  • Communicate machine and line-specific KPIs effectively to management.
  • Take ownership of daily performance KPIs across multiple production lines.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Conduct cleaning in place (CIP), clean out of place (COP), and steam in place (SIP) procedures before and after production.
  • Assist in allergen monitoring programs and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Perform sanitation and housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and batching/processing support.
  • Assist with quality assurance monitoring and documentation.
  • Promote a robust food safety culture in line with SQF requirements.
  • Actively participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of food safety initiatives as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Support the B-corp mission to enhance global health and wellness through the delivery of high-quality, nutritious foods using sustainable practices.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current OSHA and safety regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Positive attitude in a dynamic production setting.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift and aerial platform certification within three months of hire.
  • Completion of better processing control school and Acidified Foods course within the first six months of employment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 pounds multiple times during a shift.
  • Frequent bending, crouching, and twisting.
  • Ability to work in various challenging conditions, including confined spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures.
