Job Title: Water Resources Project Manager

Michael Baker International is seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Project Manager to join our team in Houston, TX.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers and designers on planning and design projects, with a focus on storm water projects. This role requires strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and work with a team of engineers and designers on various tasks, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, plan preparation, and data collection.
  • Oversee the preparation of technical reports, exhibits, and design drawings for design-bid-build and other design projects.
  • Develop and manage the preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for transportation drainage projects in accordance with TxDOT standards and guidelines.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to requests for information (RFIs) and assisting in the resolution of construction-related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control and quality assurance procedures throughout the PS&E development process.
  • Manage staff on a daily basis, providing work schedules, guidance, technical support, staff development, administrative duties, and other staff management duties as necessary.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify potential opportunities for new projects and prepare proposals, including cost estimates and technical solutions, to secure contracts with clients and agencies.
Requirements:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the State of Texas or ability to obtain in six (6) months.
  • 10+ years' experience in project management.
  • Experience working on TxDOT projects is preferred.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) and Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV-SP) is strongly encouraged.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong engineering judgment and solid background in water resources projects.
Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $111,037 to $173,407. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
