Senior Concrete Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Concrete Estimator to join our team at Canyon Contracting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction performing cost estimation of concrete construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and understand all bid submittal requirements, project general requirements, government and code requirements impacting the work of the project.
- Develop accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for all phases of construction work with emphasis on self-performed general conditions, concrete, masonry, and carpentry.
- Prepare estimates and issue proposals for concrete projects after reviewing design documents, drawings, specifications, and completing quantity take-offs.
- Communicate with general contractors/construction managers to clarify scope of work and schedule requirements.
- Solicit and negotiate quotes from various vendors and subcontractors to obtain the most competitive cost for materials, equipment, and sub-contractor labor.
- Participate in hard bid estimating as well as assisting clients in developing schematic and GMP estimates.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction performing cost estimation of concrete construction projects.
- High degree of concrete construction knowledge and analytical skills.
- Able to read and understand project plans and specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computers and software, including Microsoft Office, digital take-off programs, Bluebeam, and on-screen takeoff.
Salary:$85,000 - $105,000 per year based on experience and qualifications. Located in Richmond, VA area.
