POSITION: HSE ENGINEER II

OVERVIEW

This role serves a dual purpose: acting as an environmental engineer to support compliance initiatives and as a process engineer to assist in operational enhancements across the facility. You will receive comprehensive training in various environmental programs and your responsibilities will evolve with your experience. This position requires independent judgment and the ability to adapt standard techniques and procedures to meet unique challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of relevant federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Develop familiarity with facility operations and procedures.
  • Provide technical support to ensure adherence to environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
  • Create and implement training programs to educate employees on environmental compliance.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary environmental permits for facility operations.
  • Conduct engineering analyses related to energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and process optimization.
  • Support the preparation of mandated reports in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with leadership on environmental issues at various facilities as needed.
  • Conduct ISO audits to ensure compliance.
  • Engage in cross-functional teams beyond environmental focus.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, you should possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, with a preference for Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects.
  • A proactive attitude towards new challenges and ideas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

In this role, you will frequently need to sit, stand, walk, and use your hands for various tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. Specific vision abilities necessary for this position include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment typically involves moderate noise levels, primarily in an office setting, with some tasks performed in operational areas requiring personal protective equipment. Occasional travel may be necessary.
