Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mortgage Escrow Tax Manager to lead our Escrow Tax Department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mortgage tax and insurance, with a proven track record of managing and leading teams to achieve compliance with government regulations and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality service to clients and a positive work environment for staff.
  • Manage and oversee the tax section of the department, ensuring compliance with all state laws and regulations.
  • Lead and mentor staff to work effectively and follow mortgage servicing compliance and regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior management to plan, develop, and implement goals, budget, and activities of the assigned department.
  • Review operating results and evaluate against goals and department standards, monitoring and reporting trends to realign staff to meet objectives and changing business needs.
  • Participate in interview and selection processes for supervisory and higher job positions.
  • Make recommendations for hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of department staff within budget and communicated procedures.
  • Approve timely and accurate responses to internal and external audits, compliance reviews, and requests for information, ensuring information is provided in accordance with organizational policy and standards as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Back-up when the VP is out of the office.
  • Monitor employee performance and reviews.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years' experience in mortgage servicing, title services, financial services, or similar.
  • 5+ years of management and operations experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage tax and insurance: compliance and regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Solid PC skills: Proficient with Microsoft applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle complex, multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple and changing priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with all levels of both internal and external audiences.
  • The ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to motivate others and serve as a role model for organizational and departmental initiatives, procedures, and values.
  • Strong communication and technical skills.
  • Heavy mortgage insurance experience.
  • Knowledge of mortgage servicing software and platforms.

Preferred/Other Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of mortgage servicing software and platforms.
  • 5-10 years of mortgage servicing experience related to Escrow.
  • 5 plus years of management in the financial services/mortgage industry.
  • A management background servicing mortgage loans and exposure and management of Escrow Tax or Insurance is preferred.

The employee may be required to use a variety of standard office equipment, including computer keyboards and monitors, phones, printers, etc.
