Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our team at Houston Engineering, Inc.

  • Develop and review project studies, reports, and design documents for water resources projects.
  • Provide field services and construction oversight for water resources projects such as dams, levees, streams, and lakes.
  • Lead and mentor younger engineers to become effective water resource modelers, designers, planners, and project managers.
  • Engage in public speaking regarding civil engineer water resources projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Storm water planning
  • Stream restoration
  • Design of flood reduction and water quality improvements
  • Watershed-scale plans and studies
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in water resources engineering, preferably in the Midwest.
  • Professional Engineer's License or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • Interest in leading others and pursuing continual growth as a leader.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel periodically.
  • Authorization to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship.
