Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Analytical Scientist to join our team at Cambrex. As a key member of our analytical team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of analytical methods, providing technical expertise, and mentoring junior scientists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement analytical methods for in-process control, release testing, and stability monitoring of bulk drug substances and drug products under cGMP guidelines.
  • Lead the development of new analytical techniques and methods, and evaluate existing ones to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior scientists, and mentor them in the development of their analytical skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of analytical methods and techniques.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in analytical chemistry and apply this knowledge to improve our analytical capabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field, with a minimum of 14 years of experience in a related industry, or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience, or a PhD with 6+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of experimental design, including chemistry supporting method development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and mentor others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of advanced laboratory techniques, including HPLC, GC, and other analytical methods.
  • Subject matter expert in one or more instruments, such as GC, LC, dissolution, TGA/DSC.
  • Ability to read and execute compendial methodologies, and to write technical documents with minimal errors.
  • Strong understanding of current FDA and cGMP regulations, and the ability to ensure compliance with these regulations.
  • Hands-on experience in analytical techniques, such as HPLC, GC, and other methods.
