Key Responsibilities
  • Process prescriptions for patients and their families in the clinic setting, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Collect medication histories, fill scripts, and coordinate payments in conjunction with pharmacist direction.
  • Maintain effective communication with ambulatory-based clinical pharmacists, social workers, and other team members to ensure seamless claim adjudication.
  • Communicate benefit investigation information proactively to clinical practices and patients.
  • Support all myPennPharmacy services as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to gather necessary paperwork, prescriptions, and billing information.
  • Provide follow-up communication to patients, clinical practices, and families regarding pharmaceutical needs and eligibility information.
  • Interact with medical staff and their designees to obtain complete, accurate, and timely clinical and financial information.
  • Provide education to patients and clinical practices regarding patient insurance coverage and discharge medications.
  • Perform duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • CPHT or CPT certification (required); potentially open to hiring experienced Pharmacy Techs without certification at Pharmacy Tech Trainee level.
  • High school diploma/GED required.
