Job Summary

Houston Methodist Academic Institute is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate II Neurosurgery to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development in the field of neurosurgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced laboratory experiments with minimal supervision, focusing on research projects in neurosurgery.
  • Collaborate with department chairpersons and scientists to establish test methods and procedures.
  • Evaluate results, summarize data, and provide oversight and guidance to other associates.
  • Assist in monitoring team activities, communicating needs, and addressing issues related to scientific success.
  • Participate in teamwork, promoting a positive work environment and ensuring collaboration among research team members.
  • Teach peers and staff to critically think, verbally expressing rationale for decisions and following up consistently.
  • Organize workflow, problem-solve, and manage multiple priorities, independently handling complex problems and issues.
  • Analyze data for research grants and publications, maintaining accurate records of research and data collection.
  • Complete research, incorporating novel procedures and methods into experiments as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Terminal degree with six years of post-doctoral experience or Master of Science degree with nine years of research experience.
  • Six years of post-doctoral experience with a terminal degree or nine years of research experience with a Master's degree.
Working Conditions

This position requires a strong understanding of research principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
