The Washington Odd Fellows Home is in search of a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Housekeeper. This position is designed for those who take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff within our senior living community.
Position Purpose: The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring a pristine environment that adheres to high standards of cleanliness and infection control protocols, thereby enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning duties as directed by the Environmental Services Director, following established policies and procedures.
- Maintain daily and deep cleaning schedules to ensure all areas are kept to the highest standards.
- Utilize cleaning equipment safely and effectively, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Respect the privacy and individual needs of residents while performing cleaning tasks.
- Complete necessary documentation daily to track cleaning activities.
Essential Functions:
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
- Operate cleaning machinery such as vacuums and floor buffers.
- Wet mop and sanitize floors, ensuring all areas are clean and safe.
- Dispose of waste materials in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Prepare resident rooms for new admissions by performing terminal cleaning procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Basic math skills for inventory and supply management.
- Prior experience in long-term care settings is preferred.
Working Conditions:
This position may require lifting, bending, and moving throughout the facility. The Housekeeper must be able to work independently as well as part of a team, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude towards residents and staff alike.
Compensation and Benefits:
Wage range is competitive and based on experience, with additional benefits including vacation, sick leave, and health insurance options after eligibility requirements are met.
