Job Title: Automation Systems Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Systems Specialist to join our team at Automationtechies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming Allen Bradley PLCs and experience with design tools such as SolidWorks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automation systems for manufacturing processes
  • Program Allen Bradley PLCs and HMI systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation solutions
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs
  • Experience with design tools such as SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of automation systems and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Travel Requirements:

Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time

Experience with:

  • High volume fully automated production machines
  • Allen Bradley PLC programming and control, HMI, I/Os
  • Electrical hardware, schematics, and wiring per NEMA STD
  • Networking and automatic data acquisition

Additional Skills:

  • Machine design, machine fixture design, CAM driven machines, pneumatic actuators, servos, stepper motors, EFD dispensing valves, vision systems, sensors, sonic welding, pick-and-place mechanisms, pad printing, electrical test instruments, air-leak testers
  • Lean manufacturing (yield improvements, machine uptime improvements, MUV/scrap reduction, changeover time reduction)
  • Six-Sigma Methodology (DOE, Process Capability, Gage R&R, etc) - use of Minitab Software for analysis
