Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Automation Technician to join our team. This critical role involves ensuring the smooth operation of automated machinery, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, and optimizing production processes to maximize efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Read and understand electrical drawings, parts diagrams, P&IDs, and ladder logic diagrams.
- Troubleshoot non-functioning components, including PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and control components.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC code and process systems.
- Perform routine diagnostic checks, inspections, and maintenance of automation equipment.
- Update P&IDs, electrical drawings, and other engineering documentation as needed.
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance capacity, efficiency, and quality.
- Program and update PLCs and HMIs for manufacturing line improvements.
- Collaborate with vendors to procure materials and services.
- Monitor, measure, and report on automated system performance.
- Assist in the design, development, and commissioning of new automation systems.
- Perform low-voltage electrical wiring and instrumentation calibration.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to solve problems and expedite repairs.
- 1+ year experience as a Maintenance Automation Technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the beverage industry.
- One year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and robotic systems.
- Thorough understanding of automated manufacturing equipment, manufacturing processes, and programmable logic controllers.
- Basic knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, AutoCAD, as well as programming software such as Studio 5000, Factory Talk View, or similar.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, bend, and twist, reach with hands and arms, climb, stoop, kneel. Regular fingering, grasping, and feeling: requires repetitive movement with frequent use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls and hand-eye coordination.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus regularly.
