Position Title: Greenmarket Staffing and Administrative Manager (Full-time)

Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Food Access & Agriculture (FAA), the Greenmarket Staffing and Administrative Manager is responsible for overseeing staffing operations within the Greenmarket program. This role includes administrative coordination and fiscal management, ensuring the effective recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of personnel for over 46 farmers markets across the city. The Manager collaborates closely with the FAA leadership to maintain accurate financial administration and budget oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Staffing Administration and Management

  • Oversee staffing logistics for Greenmarket locations, including training requirements, scheduling, and overall staffing strategy.
  • Act as the primary contact for supervisory and field staff, managing inquiries, meetings, and resource allocation.
  • Serve as a liaison between field staff and the Human Resources Department.
  • Supervise the Greenmarket Hiring and Staffing Assistant, ensuring effective workflow and professional development.

Recruitment, Hiring, and Onboarding

  • Manage the recruitment and onboarding processes for Greenmarket field staff.
  • Lead the interview process, coordinating schedules and communication with applicants and supervisory staff.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new staff in collaboration with Human Resources and IT.

Fiscal and Budget Management

  • Assist the FAA Director in budget planning and management.
  • Organize regular budget meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely invoicing and payments.
  • Collaborate with the Greenmarket Operations Manager to develop and monitor the staffing budget.

Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience in staffing management, operations, or human resources, preferably in a public-facing environment.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a leadership role with a focus on people-centered management.
  • Proven financial management skills with experience in budget oversight.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to promoting a socially just food system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain seated for extended periods.

Schedule:

This position requires a commitment of 35-40 hours per week, with a hybrid work model that includes mandatory in-office attendance on specific days.
