Role Summary:

The Superintendent will be pivotal in managing daily operations and ensuring that project timelines are met. This role involves coordinating and supervising all field personnel, subcontractors, materials, and activities essential for the successful completion of projects with varying degrees of complexity. Collaboration with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and Project Engineer is crucial to deliver high-quality results on schedule and within budget while adhering to safety regulations and surpassing client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and uphold the organization’s safety protocols, complying with OSHA and relevant state regulations.
  • Implement job-specific training for safety on-site, including scaffolding and aerial lift training.
  • Develop and manage safety documentation.
  • Coordinate internal and external safety inspections.
  • Conduct Toolbox talks and provide safety training for new hires.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and take proactive measures to protect workers.
  • Assess existing field conditions and communicate changes to relevant parties.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of workmanship and best practices.
  • Inspect materials to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
  • Manage subcontractor non-conformance reports and ensure stakeholder communication.
  • Address and resolve punch-list items effectively.
  • Direct and oversee construction activities of subcontractors and laborers.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with schedules and budgets.
  • Identify, procure, and manage resources for self-performed activities.
  • Assign daily tasks to field personnel.
  • Maintain effective relationships with clients, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Oversee hiring and layoff processes for field labor.
  • Communicate construction progress conflicts to the project team for resolution.
  • Initiate and manage project team communications regarding RFIs, Submittals, and potential Change Orders.
  • Organize on-site rigging, equipment, and material deliveries.
  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Participate in meetings with the Construction Manager and clients.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports.
  • Collect and manage payroll documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a superintendent or foreman.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Possession of SST62 certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
