Job Summary:

The Appalachian State University Student Health Service Hickory Campus is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to provide support to patients and healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will have a high school graduate or college graduate with certification or license for the position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients through the process from check-in to follow-up appointments
  • Support healthcare providers at the Student Health Services
  • Work with professional and support staff to ensure a safe and disease-free/controlled workplace
  • Provide safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective care for patients
  • Organize and maintain the Student Health Services facility in a clean and sanitary condition

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or college graduate with certification or license for the position
  • Ability to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Physical demands include walking, lifting, visual activity for long periods of computer work, and/or standing for long periods of time

Working Conditions:

The Medical Office Assistant will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with varying hours and physical demands. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent patient care.
