Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Mechanic IV to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of mechanical equipment, including pumps, blowers, motors, and machine shop equipment.

Key Responsibilities

* Installs and maintains mechanical equipment, including pumps, blowers, motors, and machine shop equipment
* Erects and secures staging, hoists, and rigging in compliance with codes and safety practices
* Fabricates and installs hangers, brackets, and other securing devices to secure equipment as necessary
* Performs complex masonry work to maintain or extend building use
* Schedules and plans fertilizing, mowing, pruning, and other related ground maintenance activities
* Oversees the installation and movement of light, medium, and heavy equipment using special tools and equipment
* Removes fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting
* Assists with Modular & Systems Furniture Moves
* Repairs toilets and urinals facets as needed
* Replaces lights as needed
* Repairs or replaces ceiling tiles as needed
* Provides general maintenance in the facility, including adjusting and oiling doors, carpet repairs, hanging signage, etc.

Requirements

* High School or Trade School diploma or equivalent
* At least five (5) years of general maintenance experience
* Ability to work from blueprints, equipment drawings, and schematics, manufacturers' specifications, and literature
* Ability to plan complex jobs, select materials and equipment for proper completion
* Ability to ensure that the performance of these activities is well documented

Preferred Qualifications

* Troubleshooting devices, making necessary repairs/modifications
* Moving equipment around and setting up
* Assisting with Modular & Systems Furniture Moves and setting up
* Wiring, plumbing, assembly of older equipment upgrades, and installing new equipment
* Working with equipment manufacturers
* Sourcing and chasing down components
* Calibrating equipment as needed
* Performing and tracking equipment maintenance and plans, lockout/tagout activity
