Heavy Truck Mechanic Job Description

MID-ATLANTIC WASTE SYSTEMS is seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring that our equipment is well-maintained and safe for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks, including hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to research and complete repairs.
  • Complete preventative maintenance repairs, such as replacing or rotating tires and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Partner with the service manager to learn new skills and stay up-to-date on the latest technologies.

Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
  • 2 years of MIG and stick welding experience.
  • 2 years of automotive electrical experience.
  • 2 years of diesel engine repair experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach.
  • Ability to lift and move more than 50 lbs. without assistance.
