Position Overview
Position Title: Lab Technologist
Position Type: Staff Part-Time
Department: Entomology & Plant Pathology

Job Summary:
This part-time role involves the management of stored-product insect cultures within the research laboratory. Responsibilities include maintaining insect cultures, performing various laboratory tasks, and ensuring accurate documentation of culture records. The successful candidate will collaborate with the laboratory team through electronic communication and will be responsible for training and supervising other staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and manage stored-product insect cultures.
2. Document and record insect culture data accurately.
3. Communicate effectively with team members via electronic mail.
4. Supervise and train laboratory personnel as needed.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of post-secondary education, preferably in agriculture, biology, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and count large quantities of insects.

Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience in a laboratory setting.
