Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Worker to join our team at Seagull Schools. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our schools' buildings and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs, replacements, and installations of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity of our facilities and equipment.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Perform yard work, including trimming hedges and bushes.
  • Inspect machinery and equipment for defects and perform repairs as needed.
  • Support pest control services and removal of bulky items.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to local, state, and OSHA regulations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or General Education Certificate (GED) required.
  • Valid Hawaii State driver's license required.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Proficient in the use of common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Professional presentation and attitude.
  • Eye for details.
  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually or as a team.
  • Strong time management skills.
Work Environment

The Facilities Maintenance Worker will work in a fast-paced environment, often in a variety of weather conditions. The position requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, and occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to potentially hazardous substances and must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
