Job Summary

As a Patient Access Representative at Ascension, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient experiences. Your primary responsibility will be to communicate effectively with patients, participants, and staff to schedule patients for prescribed procedures. You will perform various clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration, gathering necessary demographic, insurance, and clinical information from patients and entering it into the appropriate database. Additionally, you will seek resources to resolve issues related to procedure types, dates, or locations and schedule patient procedures to optimize their time and clinical resources. You will also coordinate and communicate schedules, assist with insurance pre-certification/authorization, and provide counseling to patients, participants, or their representatives regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience is required. Note that required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous scheduling experience in a medical practice setting is preferred, as is medical terminology.
