Job Summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of roofing and building materials, with a strong commitment to quality, integrity, and trustworthiness. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a plant setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and correcting unsafe conditions, troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment, and working collaboratively with other mechanics and electricians to resolve operational issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough safety assessments of work areas and equipment to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical devices, including gearboxes, pumps, and motors, using precision machine tools and fabrication techniques.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and overhead cranes, to access and repair equipment in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to resolve operational issues and ensure smooth production operations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in industrial maintenance.

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a plant setting, with a strong background in mechanical maintenance and repair.
  • Millwright skills, welding, and machining experience preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of hand tools and maintenance equipment, including precision machine tools and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed repair manuals and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds, and work in a fast-paced production environment.
