We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine.

About the Position

This is an open rank, open tenure status faculty position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our research and academic programs. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D./MD degree in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field and a strong track record of research experience in chronic inflammatory skin diseases and skin cancer pathogenesis.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct cutting-edge research in stem cell, human skin 3D culture, and transgenic/knockout animal modeling
  • Analyze next-generation sequencing datasets, including high-dimensional single-cell transcriptomics, epigenomics, and large-scale proteomics data
  • Develop and lead research projects in genetic, genomic, and epigenetic regulation
  • Collaborate with faculty members and researchers to advance our understanding and treatment potential for the field of dermatology
Requirements
  • Ph.D./MD degree in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field
  • Strong research experience in chronic inflammatory skin diseases and skin cancer pathogenesis
  • Experience in genetic, genomic, and epigenetic regulation
  • Potential to serve as principal investigator on DoD/NIH R01 or equivalent awards
