Transformative Leadership Opportunity in Adult Psychiatry

We are seeking a visionary Psychiatrist and Medical Director to lead our Adult Unit at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.

Role Overview:

As the inpatient BHU Medical Director, you will be instrumental in providing strategic leadership and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality and performance initiatives to maintain the integrity of the BHU.
  • Represent adult psychiatry in hospital meetings and serve as the point person for psychiatric topics, both clinical and administrative.
  • Participate in program development and expansion efforts of the GME Program, overseeing psychiatry residents and fellows.
  • Oversee psychiatry providers to meet volume and quality expectations.
  • Participate in recruitment, orientation, and performance management of providers.
  • Be available for clinical escalation during emergencies.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose patients, and prescribe medications.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and complete clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and coordinate care with stakeholders.
  • Provide referrals and education to patients and families.
  • Offer outpatient psychiatric services virtually when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Maryland licensure or willingness to become licensed.
  • Board certification or eligibility.
  • Preferred willingness to become licensed in other geographies.
