Position Overview:

The primary objective of this role is to enhance the design of cutting-edge gas processing facilities within the renewable energy domain. The Commissioning Technician will collaborate closely with project managers at Vision RNG, acting as a key authority on process and mechanical design aspects of capital projects. This position will provide support to project teams in selecting processing technologies, evaluating vendor proposals, and integrating various gas treatment technologies during the design and construction phases of renewable natural gas plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical assistance to gas facility operations, ensuring the performance and integrity of gas conditioning and processing facilities for reliable gas delivery.
  • Identify and formulate cost-effective solutions to operational challenges.
  • Create design concepts and process designs aimed at enhancing system deliverability and reliability.
  • Establish and maintain technical process specifications and integrity plans for natural gas conditioning systems.
  • Validate vendor equipment sizing and third-party engineering calculations.
  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for modifications and new developments in natural gas storage facilities.
  • Engage in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSR).
  • Compose process descriptions and assist in drafting project Design Basis Memorandums and operational procedures for gas conditioning and processing systems.
  • Adhere to and promote compliance with Vision RNG's engineering practices.
  • Perform other related tasks as required by business needs or assigned projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering; relevant gas processing experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering.
  • Fundamental understanding of natural gas hydrocarbon phase behavior and thermodynamics.
  • Basic knowledge of process simulation techniques.
  • Awareness of process safety concepts and risk management, including Process Hazard Analyses.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and engineering piping schematics.
  • Working knowledge of gas processing equipment, processes, and related instrumentation.
  • Strong decision-making and practical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in documentation.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong presentation abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the management of multiple priorities, strong organizational skills, and team collaboration.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays, up to 50% of the time.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record.
