Probation Officer

The 36th Judicial District Juvenile Probation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Juvenile Supervision Officer to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community's youth.

This full-time position involves working with emotionally disturbed and/or violent children or chemically dependent children, providing guidance, support, and supervision to help them overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. You will work closely with other employees, law enforcement officials, and juvenile justice system officials to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young clients.

• Must be at least 21 years old and have good moral character
• Preferred: at least 1 year of college credit in Criminal Justice, social work, Psychology, or related field; or 1 year working with emotionally disturbed and/or violent children or chemically dependent children
• Valid Texas Driver's license, High School diploma or GED (documentation must be provided)
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug testing
• Be a team player

You will work on a 12-hour shift schedule, typically from Saturday to Friday, with some flexibility to accommodate unexpected situations. The workspace is located in the secured area of the San Patricio County Juvenile Detention Center, which is a non-smoking building.
