Anesthesia Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at a local metro surgery center. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Manage patients' airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation and extubating, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, and respiratory therapy.
- Collaborate with clinic management to establish the type and scope of anesthesia services required to meet the needs of patients and the surgery center.
- Select, prepare, or use equipment, monitors, supplies, or drugs for the administration of anesthetics.
- Select, order, and administer anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids, or blood products.
- Perform pre-anesthetic screenings, including physical evaluations and patient interviews, and document results.
- Monitor patients' responses, including skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation, or urine output, using invasive and noninvasive techniques.
- Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
- Develop anesthesia care plans.
- Obtain informed consent from patients for anesthesia procedures.
- Assess patients' medical histories to predict anesthesia response.
- Perform or manage regional anesthetic techniques, such as local, spinal, epidural, caudal, nerve blocks, and intravenous blocks.
- Evaluate patients' post-surgical or post-anesthesia responses, taking appropriate corrective actions or requesting consultation if complications occur.
- Successful completion of a program approved by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthetist Education programs.
- 5+ years of previous independent CRNA experience required.
- Previous leadership or management experience required.
- Licensing and Certification:
- Current Minnesota Registered Nurse License.
- Current certification through the National Board on Certification and Re-Certification of Nurse Anesthetists with compliance with all continuing education requirements.
- Additional certification to include BLS and ACLS.
- Demonstrated leadership, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Commitment to active participation in shared accountability and decision making for the continuous improvement of the surgery center's department of nurse anesthesia.
- Additional certification and continuing education as needed to maintain proficiency in current, scientifically based, nurse anesthesia practice.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of computers and electronic medical record documentation.
