Job Summary:

DSJ Global is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and local authorities. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Safety Program Development: Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs and procedures. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Training and Development: Create and deliver training programs for employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, injuries, and near misses. Prepare detailed reports, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Waste Management and Sustainability: Oversee waste management, recycling programs, and resource conservation initiatives. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments and safety reviews for new processes, equipment, and materials. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Culture of Safety: Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in EHS.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in using EHS management software.
  • Abilities: Ability to analyze complex situations, develop practical solutions, and lead cross-functional teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
