Position: Building Maintenance Technician
Location: Brookhaven, GA
Employment Type: Contract with potential for permanent placement
Compensation: $18/hr
Work Schedule: 7am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the upkeep of park landscapes, encampments, and public pathways.
- Manage building systems, ensuring functionality of both interior and exterior lighting.
- Address light maintenance tasks, including changing light fixtures, performing minor repairs, and assisting with room configurations.
- Conduct regular patrols of building exteriors to collect litter and maintain cleanliness of lots and walkways.
- Utilize effective time management skills to complete tasks safely and professionally.
- Assess the time and scope of necessary repairs.
- Support landscaping staff with various outdoor maintenance duties.
- Communicate any facility-related issues to the direct supervisor.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools, as well as materials and equipment used in facility maintenance and repairs.
- Understanding of maintenance and construction practices relevant to parks and recreational facilities.
- Awareness of safety precautions necessary when working with tools and machinery in public areas.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions, including the use of herbicides and working in high temperatures.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and engage positively with the public.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Adherence to grooming and dress standards (uniforms provided).
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- A valid Georgia Driver's License is required upon appointment.
