Medical Laboratory Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Glenwood Medical Associates, PC. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by collecting and processing laboratory specimens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood and other laboratory specimens from patients using venipuncture and other techniques.
  • Properly label, handle, and store biological specimens to ensure accurate test results.
  • Review and process lab orders in patient electronic health records (EHRs) to ensure accuracy and address any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare requirements, including proper execution of advance beneficiary notices (ABNs) when necessary.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification preferred
  • Previous phlebotomy work experience preferred
  • Basic computer and filing skills
  • Attention to detail
