Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled EEG Technologist II to join our team at MaineHealth. As a Neurodiagnostic Specialist, you will be responsible for operating electroneurodiagnostic equipment to measure neural potentials for use by physicians in diagnosing neurological outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision and according to established policies and procedures, operate electroneurodiagnostic equipment to measure neural potentials for use by physicians in diagnosing neurological outcomes.
  • Collect EEG data for routine EEGs, Interventional Radiology, Evoked Potentials, Continuous EEG, and long-term epilepsy monitoring in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with IT and clinical engineering to resolve IT issues related to EEG equipment.
  • Document and review EEG data, including continuous EEG, ambulatory EEG, and EMU studies, in accordance with department protocols.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in using EEG equipment in line with safety, infection control, and quality protocols.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and interact effectively with seriously ill or agitated patients.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay up-to-date with industry developments.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP Accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology Program and/or registered as a R.EEG T, R.EPT CNIM, or CLTM by ABRET.
  • Basic Life Support certification by the American Heart Association.
  • One year of experience in Neurodiagnostic field, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to collaborate with IT and clinical engineering.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
