Lockheed Martin recognizes the potential for significant advancement in the way Classified IT services are delivered to our Business Area partners. The Classified Transformation organization and leadership structure have been put in place, along with significant investment to drive positive changes to both transform and standardize Classified IT delivery.

The candidate will be a System Engineer for an enterprise WAN solution: DarkStar. The role involves supporting the Windows environments within DarkStar at one of our node locations and serving as the primary interface for DarkStar.

The selected candidate will work closely with the larger DarkStar system engineering and network teams to maintain, sustain, and keep secure all Windows environments throughout the system.

Candidate must be comfortable working in an environment supporting a large number of different platforms, ranging from enterprise servers to small and midsize servers.

The role involves system installations, upgrades, configurations, software installation, patching, and maintenance. Knowledge of various protocols such as DNS, SMTP, NFS, FTP, Telnet, ssh, and etc protocols and system network tuning and configuration is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Configure and maintain Windows OS environments (Physical and virtual)
  • Administer Active Directory, including health checks and troubleshooting
  • Configure and administer Group Policy Objects
  • Manage Windows Updates and patching (WSUS)
  • Understand IT systems and network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Work seamlessly across organization boundaries
  • Identify potential process improvements and implement changes
  • Build effective relationships with teams and subject matter experts
  • Hold a Security+ certification and a DoD SECRET clearance
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with McAfee and EPO/ENS
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2016/2019
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and/or Windows OS image building processes
  • Experience with script writing, PowerShell, Ansible, Python, or other automation/scripting tools
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8/9
  • Experience with Certificate Authorities (CA) and Public Key Infrastructure
  • Experience with SPLUNK
  • Experience with Domain Capable Windows/Linux/Virtualization
