We're Hiring for Multiple Software Engineer PositionsMixpanel's distributed database is the backbone of our system, processing over 1 Trillion user-generated events every month while maintaining end-to-end latencies of under a minute. Our engineers have successfully implemented a custom deduplication mechanism to overcome the limitation of duplicating events across systems.
The Distributed Systems engineering teams are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining new capabilities and ensuring the smooth operation of our underlying systems. As a key member of this team, you will be working closely with other engineers to develop scalable solutions that can handle vast amounts of data.
Responsibilities- Design and implement distributed systems that can handle large volumes of data
- Debug production issues across multiple services and infrastructure levels
- Ensure the reliability and uptime of the services you're responsible for
- Monitor and optimize service costs, removing inefficiencies wherever possible
- Improve engineering standards, maintaining high-quality code and simplicity
- Pursue innovative solutions to enhance customer product data analysis
A typical project requires in-depth understanding of how individual services interact with other components. Previous projects include migrating the ingestion API service from Python to Golang, resulting in improved performance and type safety.
RequirementsWe're looking for experienced engineers who possess:
- A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals related to distributed systems and networks
- A knack for problem-solving and thinking from first principles

The estimated target cash compensation for this position ranges from $227,000 to $277,000 USD per year, depending on experience and level.
